A new season

Seasons come and go. There are four seasons every year: winter, spring, summer and fall. They come about at relatively the same time each year and we know to expect them but aren’t fully prepared for each one all of the time.

There are also seasons in our adult lives which come and go as well. They are often longer than 3-4 months. Some last years. I did not plan for a season of infertility, but went through it. It seems like so long ago. I then had the season of babies and toddlers. Soon I had school-aged children and then I was a homeschool mom and then I sent my kids to school and now my kids have moved out. A new season has come and I knew it was coming and planned for it, but just like when I sent my youngest to kindergarten, I am at a loss for where to invest my time. I have already begun working on my health, and am starting to work with friends in accountability. Where am I in my relationship with God? I know He has never left me and I never left Him. I read the Bible nearly every day and pray often. When I was teaching Bible classes at church I dug into the Word so much deeper so that I would have something to share. I have really been enjoying studying to share with a weekly small group of high school girls, and have more time to do better than I did when my children lived at home. I think this new season includes a deepening walk with God. I have learned over the years that if I invest my time, the return is fruitful if I invest wisely.

So here’s to a new season and reviving this old blog. I’m surprised I haven’t lost access it’s been so long. Praying for direction and discernment as I move forward!
